How long does Buckingham to Stansted Airport take?
The journey is often around 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours when conditions are reasonable, but we allow more time when planning an airport departure.
The shortest route isn’t necessarily the quickest.
At some times of day, three different options can be within around ten minutes of each other even though the distances are quite different. A shorter cross-country route can lose time through slower roads, while a longer motorway route may be quicker when traffic is moving well.
For early flights, the roads may be quieter, but the collection still needs to allow enough time for the journey, airport drop-off, check-in and security.

Stansted operates from one main passenger terminal, so there isn’t the same terminal choice you get at Heathrow or Gatwick.
For departures, we take you to the appropriate airport drop-off area and allow for the final approach when working out your collection time.
